This short piece is taken from a sermon delivered during the funeral of a woman named Mrs. Turner. It begins with a passage stating that the prophet Isaiah, once, made many serious accusations against Israel for turning away from God. One of these was that good people were dying without anyone noticing or caring, and kind-hearted people were being taken away without anyone realizing that they were being saved from future harm. The world and the church are in a bad state, with religion declining and becoming less important. This is a sad and serious situation, so we should ask Jesus, like the disciples did, to be with us.
